University of California Los Angeles is both the coordinating center for AIR-B and also a research site. AIR-B offices are located in the Semel Institute building. The site includes the Kasari Lab, UCLA Center for Autism Research and Treatment, and a range of other programs.

The Division of Neurodevelopmental and Behavioral Pediatrics at the University of Rochester has partnered with the Rochester City School District on AIR-B projects. The division has a federally-funded University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities.

A.J. Drexel Autism Institute

The A.J. Drexel Autism Institute is the first organization built around a public health-science approach to understanding autism. The Autism Institute's mission is to research population-level and community-based approaches. And to find tools that will prevent autism-associated morbidity and improve the quality of life for individuals with autism of all ages.

Participant in AIR-B IV

During AIR-B IV we worked with the University of Washington “School Mental Health, Assessment, Research, and Training Center.” The SMART center is a collaboration between the College of Education and School of Medicine at the University of Washington. They work to aid students with social, emotional, and behavioral needs.

Seattle Children’s Research Institute—Center for Child Health, Behavior and Development

During AIR-B I we worked with The Center for Child Health, Behavior and Development and Seattle Children’s Research Institute. Seattle Children’s Research Institute is a national leader in conducting innovative clinical and health-outcomes research. The center works closely with Seattle Children’s Hospital and the University of Washington.

Juniper Gardens Children's Project is a part of the Kansas University Life Span Institute with the mission to promote children’s social well-being and learning through the use of evidence-based practices. This project has improved the care and education of children while also providing opportunities for KU faculty and students to learn from the wisdom and life experiences of families from diverse backgrounds. The Self-Determined Learning Model of Instruction that is implemented in the AIR-B IV project was previously developed by researchers at the University of Kansas.

Kennedy Krieger Institute—Center for Autism and Related Disorders

The Center for Autism and Related Disorders at the Kennedy Krieger Institute in Baltimore, Maryland is a program for children with autism and their family members. CARD endorses a flexible approach to treatment, adjusting to meet the needs of each child and their family.

New York Presbyterian Center for Autism and the Developing Brain is a collaborative program between New York-Presbyterian, Weill Cornell Medical College, and Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, in partnership with New York Collaborates for Autism. The University of Michigan Autism and Communication Disorders Center is the predecessor to CADB and worked on the beginning of AIR-B I.
